چکیده
mal thickness of 41.1 μm, whereas sites treated with vehicle alone measured an average of 22.6 μm, indicating a significant difference in epidermal thickness between aTd-treated groups and vehicle controls, Po0.001 (Mann– Whitney test, Figure 1e and f). In summary, we have demonstrated in vivo capabilities of aTds to initiate protect and repair response in non-UVexposed guinea pig skin. By mimicking small DNA molecules, topical aTds were able to induce melanogenesis and epidermal thickening. These findings can have implications in skin photoprotection, cosmetics (non-UV tanning and antiaging), and may guide further research to better understand the cellular responses to UVR without inflicting actual UV damage.

Influence of water content on Raman spectroscopy characterization of skin sample.
We report that the Raman spectrum obtained from porcine skin varies significantly with the change of skin water content. At different water contents from 40 to 55 wt.%, the Raman spectra results using confocal Raman spectroscopy show that the spectral variation of porcine skin is highly affected by skin water content. Experimental data are consistent with the Monte Carlo calculation and it is p...
متن کاملThe effect of acid modification of porcine mucin on its drug release and skin permeation properties in insulin transdermal patches
The study aimed at determining the effect of acid modified porcine mucin powder on the release and permeation of insulin in transdermal patches. Various batches of insulin patches were prepared by solvent casting method using polysorbate 80 as emulsifying agent and acid treated and untreated mucin powders as base. The patches were evaluated for their physical properties, folding endurance, moi...
متن کاملEffect of Sub- and Super-critical Water Treatment on Physicochemical Properties of Porcine Skin
Super- and sub-critical water treatments have been of interest as novel methods for protein hydrolysis. In the present study, we studied the effect of sub-critical water (Sub-H2O, 300℃, 80 bar) treatment as well as super-critical water (Super-H2O, 400℃, 280 bar) treatment on the physicochemical properties of porcine skin (PS), which has abundant collagen. Porcine skin was subjected to pre-therm...
متن کاملOil-frozen W₁/O/W₂ double emulsions for dermal biomacromolecular delivery containing ethanol as chemical penetration enhancer.
Oil-frozen water-in-oil-in-water (W₁/O/W₂) double emulsions (DE) containing ethanol up to 40% (w/v) in the external aqueous W₂ phase exhibited external coalescence upon thawing of the oil phase, releasing up to 85% of the encapsulated protein of the internal aqueous phase. These emulsions were studied in vitro as potential dermal macromolecular delivery formulations, achieving fluorescein isoth...
